HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST-LEVEL I

The role as Human Resource Generalist-Level 1 reports directly to the Director of Human Resources. The successful candidate will lead the human resource department with an agile, innovative way of thinking and effectively finding solutions to problems. This person will have the opportunity to create a concrete foundation of the position and optimize the maximum potential of growth. The role also will see every facet of Human Resources, being diverse and capable in their responsibility to make both successful and difficult decisions. They will also be dividing their time to guide the culture and performance management, domestic and international assignments, talent acquisition and onboarding processes to drive the organization to thrive, beginning with its valued people.

Talent Acquisition and College Recruitment
•    Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring top talent.
•    Develop and execute recruitment strategies for campus hiring.
•    Establish and maintain relationships with universities and career centers.
•    Coordinate and attend career fairs, networking events, and campus recruitment activities.
•    Maintain accurate candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
•    Partners with hiring managers to help with recruiting efforts, developing job descriptions, preparing job postings, and screening, interviewing, and selecting candidates. 

Global Mobility
•    Support international employee relocation and immigration processes. Coordinates move to and from varying countries and regions.
•    Coordinate with legal and tax advisors to ensure compliance with global mobility policies.
•    Assist employees with visa applications, work permits, and other relocation needs.
•    Prepares assignment agreements.

Payroll Assistance
•    In the absence of the primary payroll processor, executes payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
•    Supports payroll audits, compliance checks, and employee inquiries related to compensation and deductions.

HR Generalist
•    Serve as a point of contact for HR-related inquiries.
•    Support employee onboarding, training, and development programs.
•    Assist in HR initiatives, including performance management, benefits administration, and compliance as needed.
•    Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
•    Assist with employee relations support and guidance through policy interpretation and objective assessments of internal consistency.
•    Maintains HR records and databases to current, accurate information.
•    Assesses and responds to high level personnel issues including employee misconduct, harassment, and discrimination investigations. 
•    Assists with compensation and benefits administration, employee development, and performance management as needed. 
•    Reports on key HR metrics, headcount, turnover, recruiting etc.
•    Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
•    Creates and maintains all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and processes.
•    Miscellaneous tasks, as required. (Audits, new program initiatives, compliance, etc.)
•    Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

•    Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams. Experience with HRIS and ATS is a plus.
•    Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
•    Ability to maintain effective working relationships, communicate clearly, and create and maintain an organized work environment.
•    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, visitors, and employees.
•    Understands and adheres to immigration and visa requirements.
•    Previous recruiting experience
•    Demonstrated problem solving abilities.
•    Proactive, friendly, approachable, patient, intelligent

SUCCESS CHARACTERISTICS

This person is expected to hold themselves and the organization accountable for achieving internal and external goals in a divergent, approachable manner. They should be adept at leveraging technology, with the ability to grow as the industry of supply chain management fluctuates. They should also have experience collaborating with a team of people, being able to adjust leadership and communication styles to best connect and collaborate with them. The person to best fit this role will be strategically driven and will function as a critical thinker in all situations. In this role, it is crucial to have a hands-on approach that pays attention to detail and the ability to lead organizational change.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. HR Certification is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

•    Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
•    Standing or waking occasionally
•    Ability to lift 10-15 pounds, such as laptops, office paper, office supplies. 
•    Reaching, bending, stooping occasionally.
